As founder & Principal Designer, Yvan Tchouaga brings a background in product design and a strong appreciation for decoration, furnitures, creativity, and purpose. Design Process
We aim to offer full design service while creating thoughtfully curated spaces for both residential and some limited commercial clients. Our full design service focus on managing every aspect of the design process, from concept development and space planning to final installation.
Our team ensures each project is functional, visually stunning, and tailored to the client’s unique style and needs. We provide expert guidance on material selection, including flooring, lighting, paint, and furnishings, to achieve a cohesive and elevated look. Whether it's a home renovation or a recent build-out, we deliver seamless, high-quality results from start to finish.
Design Process
An initial discovery meeting provides the opportunity to share your unique project goals while we guide you through our tailored design process and address any questions. Following the meeting, a formal contract will be provided for approval, and a retainer will be collected to begin. Once details are confirmed, we’ll move into the personalized onboarding phase, where we customize the project to fit your lifestyle. This includes setting up project files, completing a detailed questionnaire to understand your preferences, taking inventory of existing furnishings, coordinating as-built drafting for remodels, and collaborating with architects or builders for new construction—all designed to create a project experience that revolves around you.
The concept ideation phase establishes the overall project direction and room layouts, including general space planning for furnishings when applicable, and provides an initial furnishings budget for client review. During this phase, we devote intentional time to meticulously exploring an extensive array of potential inventory, carefully curating a bespoke design direction tailored to reflect the client's unique aesthetic, lifestyle, and vision for their home. We close out this phase typically with one in-person meeting with all decision-makers present to ensure efficiency.
The design development phase focuses on selecting finishes, fixtures, lighting, cabinetry, hardware, furnishings, and accessories. This stage includes several in-person meetings where the presence of all decision-makers ensures timely decisions that reflect everyone’s interests. Once selections are finalized, we meticulously document all specifications and create detailed construction drawings for contractors and subcontractors. These documents include finishes, fixtures, appliances, hardware, floor plans, elevations, and ceiling plans, ensuring precision at every step.
As construction begins, we lead the process, coordinating trades and vendors while managing every detail in collaboration with the project manager. We make regular site visits to ensure accuracy and keep you updated throughout the project. From vendor bid reviews to finish approvals and lighting installations, we handle all tasks related to design intent. Structured for your peace of mind, this phase ensures a seamless journey from start to punch walk, where every detail is curated to reflect your vision.
From turnkey installation to the final execution of our vision, this is the moment every client anticipates. In this last phase, we manage every detail to ensure a seamless, effortless process, allowing you to step back with complete confidence. Whole-home installations are typically completed over consecutive days, while phased installations are scheduled with precision based on delivery timelines. The final walkthrough is an exciting, refined experience where we ensure every element is perfect. We address any final touch-ups, provide warranties, care guides, and cleaning tips, and celebrate the transformation of your space. While it may be a farewell, the lasting impression repeatedly brings clients back for future projects.
